Preparing to make your claim under the CJRS – action required now
To ensure you are able to make your claim under the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) when the portal opens from next week, make sure that your Government Gateway includes PAYE on the services you can access. You will need this access to be able to make your claim.
HMRC recently emailed businesses and included the following comment:
If you use an agent who is authorised to act for you for PAYE purposes, they will be able to make a claim on your behalf, so please speak to them now.
Don’t assume that your accountant has this access, as in most cases this will NOT be the case. If access is not already in place, the process for setting this up involves sending authority to HMRC and getting an authorisation code that is posted out by HMRC. Trying to set this up now will unduly delay the process, so our advice is to ensure you have the access via your Gateway account.
We are ready to help any clients with preparing the grant claim for submission, please speak to your usual PKF Francis Clark contact for details.
If we process your payroll for you, please get in touch as we may have access to your PAYE account.
